You may want to use your car for this part. Not to be missed is the Old Bale Grist mill where they still grind their flour most every day. It's a state park and a great place to bring the kids.

If it's hot and in the summer, take the kids swimming and riding at Bothe.

Don't forget to visit over 16 wineries listed here. Might take you a couple of days.
